  1. Rinse the quinoa very well for at least 30 seconds and then drain it. This removes the bitterness on the outside of the quinoa.
  2. Heat a saucepan. Boil water and add the rinsed quinoa over a low simmer. Keep stirring it time to time until the quinoa absorbs all of the water.
  3. When that step is done, remove the saucepan from the heat. Cover it so that the quinoa gets steamed for about 5 minutes. This step allows the quinoa time to pop open into little curlicues, so it’s nice and fluffy.
  4. Now uncover the lid and fluff the quinoa with a fork. Season with salt and serve.
